My husband and I own our businesses, and we recently moved into our forever home for our offices. We host clients regularly, and I use our space as a photo studio for my blog, so we truly want our space to be an extension of our home. When we toured the space, we knew immediately it was the one for us, and began dreaming of ways to make it our own.
There was an outdated and, frankly, ugly kitchenette space in the middle of our office that HAD to be renovated. We removed the upper cabinets, counter, and small sink within days of signing our long term lease. Then, we installed shiplap, farmhouse shelving and lighting, a gorgeous butcher block counter, and a truly show stopping farmhouse sink from Sinkology.
The Josephine Drop In sink is absolutely the most stunning sink I have ever seen, and paired with a Price Pfister Canton Faucet make me fall in love each and every time I see it.
We were able to install the sink in less than three hours with the suggested app and instructions sent with the sink.
The sink is made of a durable, but beautiful fire clay, and I am sure it will last well beyond our time at our office.
My only regret with this sink is not having one in my own home as well!

We wanted to renovate our kitchen when we moved in. If I am being honest, it wasn’t something we could afford or had the time to do once we moved in. So we decided we would wait several months until we were a little less busy to undertake the renovation.
Now keep in mind that our kitchen was renovated about 9 years ago by the previous homeowners but it was still outdated. The countertops were corian, the sink was faded, and the cabinets were pretty just not the color we wanted.
First things first, I HAD to create a design board to help my mind think a little bit better. like to create design boards before I start a renovation project because it helps me have a clear vision for the entire project. Mainly, my vision for the kitchen was to do the following:
● Paint the cabinets (white for the cabinets on the wall and black for the island)
● Cut our island down to make it all one level
● Change out our hardware
● Replace our sink with a farmhouse sink
● Change out our faucet
● Replace the light fixtures above the sink and island
● Replace our countertops with quartz countertops
● Add backsplash
For todays post, I am sharing all about our sink and faucet! I searched near and far for the perfect farmhouse sink. Did I want a farmhouse did I not? Our current sink was a standard white porcelain sink and I hated it. It wasn’t very deep and it had 2 separate bowls. Now yes, the sink was very old but it was chipping and staining so bad. We had to give it a deep clean just about every single week. So when I was searching for a sink I knew I wanted something bigger than what we had currently. I had been looking at farmhouse sinks ever since we moved into our new house. Upon my searching, I stumbled upon Sinkology, an online company that provides premium sinks for kitchen and bath. Sinkology has now branched out to offering their products in Home Depot, too! And I was absolutely in love with Sinkology’s sink designs. Everything looked so beautiful and sleek. Now for me to decide upon the color. I almost went with the white sink (y’all know ya girl is an all white lover) but something inside of me was telling me to do something different. I had already decided upon the white countertops and white cabinets so I decided to go with the matte black.
The final sink I decided upon was the Bradstreet II Farmhouse Sink in Matte Black. And shipping on this sink was FAST! It was at my home within the next 5-7 days! And when I opened the box for the first time, I got so excited! It was like all of my kitchen dreams were coming true.
For our faucet, we really didn’t have a huge preference. We just knew we wanted something black to match the sink. Our current faucet was a stainless steel pull down style, but it was about 10 years old and definitely needed to be replaced. I love the pull down function when I am washing dishes so I knew this was a must. I heard about Pfister Faucets through one of my design friends and Sinkology spoke really highly of them so I decided to check out what they have! Let’s just say – I will be using Pfister for all of faucet renovation needs!
They provide a wide array of bathroom and kitchen faucets! We decided to go with the Kai faucet. I love it’s sleek design and am so glad we chose that style. We got the faucet in very fast and the install was very easy! Wait until you see these after photos!
Overall, I am so happy I decided upon a Sinkology sink and Pfister faucet! They were both amazing companies to work with and made the process that much easier! If you are about to take on a kitchen or bathroom remodel – CHECK THEM OUT! You will not be disappointed!

We recently moved into the last office we will ever rent. My husband and I co-run his financial advisory firm, and EPM. We have rented an office space for both businesses for nearly a decade. And, this summer we found the most amazingly perfect space. It has a lobby downstairs, a lobby upstairs, a studio for me, an office for him, and a break room for our kids. And, it has a kitchenette. So, of course, I am using the new space as an opportunity to decorate, including decorating the kitchenette as a Holiday Coffee Station for our clients.
DIY Kitchenette Renovation
Y’all, let me tell you about this space when we signed our lease. The cabinets were the ugliest formica and wood trim things I have ever seen. Straight from 1981. The sink was rotting, and leaked, and the upper cabinets were just barely hanging on the wall with two screws. And.it.was.UGLY. I couldn’t live with it, and before we signed any paperwork with the landlord, I asked if we could renovate the space. With his blessing to work on it, we signed the lease, and began an epic makeover.
We removed the upper cabinets and threw them out, then we discovered the light fixture was hard wired under the cabinets on the wall. So, we removed the light fixture and and the wires to the ceiling. Then, we painted and waxed the cabinets with DecoArt Chalky Finish Paint and Varnish. It took a few coats of each to hide the formica.
We decided to cover the walls with shiplap. We installed each piece with our nail gun, and stagger the edges. Then, we painted it with two coats of white paint.
Finally, we removed the old sink, faucet, and countertops. We replaced the counter with a gorgeous wood butcher block counter. My husband and I chose it for several reasons, one was the affordability, and another was the ability to continue to DIY the work. We would not have been able to cut a stone counter ourselves.
We cut the butcher block and part of the cabinets after watching the installation video from Sinkology, and reading the instructions several times.
Before we installed the sink, we checked the counter for level, and shimmed any areas that needed to be adjusted. Then, we caulked around the counters.
Since our break room is a private area of our office, I wanted to make sure the walk through kitchenette was a space that matched the rest of our client spaces in the office. But, I also wanted it to look home-y and inviting, while serving as a very functional kitchen space.
The shelves above the counter are open, and allow me to change the look of the space each season or holiday. I have coffee pods and cocoa packages in small metal buckets. I also have shelf stable creamers and sugars in buckets. Coffee mugs are hung on a vintage style cup hanger. Our coffee maker can brew a full pot or just a small cup, making it perfect for small or large groups.
Holiday Coffee Bar
I couldn’t decorate our office and not decorated our coffee bar. The white coffee mugs were traded for buffalo plaid coffee mugs. The flowers were placed by a little tree. A basket was filled with ornaments, tree sprigs, and battery operated lights. Then, I added a few metal holiday houses and bottle brush trees to the shelves. Finally, a flour sack kitchen towel gets draped over the edge of our stunning Sinkology sink.

I loved our kitchen but I felt like it was missing something. We had the white and grey cabinets, the stenciled backsplash, and the farmhouse decor but it still didn’t feel complete. It was missing something. The perfect farmhouse sink!

Hello there and Happy Holidays!
I could not be more excited to share this project with you!! It’s all about installing a Sinkology fireclay farmhouse sink in a vintage kitchen island, and might be my favorite DIY we’ve ever done! What made it an instant favorite? Well I love it when beautiful design meets amazing function and that pretty much sums this project up! Especially thanks to this gorgeous Bradstreet II All-In-One Fireclay Sink and Pfister Zuri Faucet Kit from Sinkology which just launched and can be found exclusively at Home Depot!
Let’s Get This Sinkology Fireclay Farmhouse Sink Project Started!
So let’s dive in to this awesome project! We started with this show stopping vintage kitchen island (pictured above) which you can read more about HERE. So first thing we had to do, and the most scary part, was to cut the hole in the top of the island. To make sure we got cut the hole just right we set the sink on top of the island, measured to make sure it was centered, and then traced around it as a template.
Cutting the Fireclay Sink Hole
Next, we carefully dismantled the back and top of vintage island and took it outside to make it more accessible and less messy. We put the top back in place and taped precisely along the traced pencil lines to give a more obvious line to follow and help prevent splintering. Then Ed used a hole saw to drill holes in each of the corners since the sink has nice rounded corners.
The Final Cuts and Moment of Truth
Next, Ed carefully cut up to the holes with a circular saw using the clamped level for a guide. After making sure the tape line was straight he used a table saw to cut the side piece. Then he sanded the rounded curves smooth. Once that part was done we held our breath while we held the Sinkology Fireclay Farmhouse Sink in place and…it fit like a glove! After that we both relaxed a bit!
Placing the Sinkology Fireclay Farmhouse Sink in the Vintage Island
With the messiest part over we moved everything back inside. Then Ed built a support for the fireclay sink because it’s the real deal and not light! After the sink was in place he drilled the hole for the Pfister Zuri faucet and ran all the plumbing for both. I sealed the top and stained any visible raw wood edges before we set the sink in place the final time.
Adding a Microwave and Dishwasher to the Vintage Island
After the sink and faucet were in it was time to make the vintage island even more functional by creating a space for a microwave and dishwasher. Ed ran the wiring for both and the pluming for the dishwasher. Yep he’s a rockstar!
Keeping the Vintage Island Original
Next we puzzle pieced in as much of the original drawers and trim that we could. This was honestly the most time consuming part of this project, but well worth it! Ed made one big pull out drawer under the sink for storage and easy accessibility to the plumbing when necessary. After seeing this in place I decided to make a sink skirt to soften the space a bit and add some texture. I’ll be sharing that simple DIY here next week!

We could not be happier with the outcome of this project! It completely transformed our kitchen both aesthetically and functionally. This island is certainly a focal point, but the Sinkology fireclay farmhouse sink contrasts beautifully stealing the show!
